Message from the Founder

My name is Gorjo Girgis being born in lake eyasi area at the village of qangdend in Karatu District Arusha Tanzania. My parents and ancestors were born in Ngorongoro Crater which was formed in 1959. I grew in the land and became a warrior of Datoga society after passing the rite passage of the Datoga in our living culture. Attending my family livestock in the Lake Eyasi Rift Valley Escarpment area and near the south highland of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. My life of living in the luxury of being natural made me to discover the potentials protected by my ancestors of coexisting with wildlife.

I interacted with livestock with all my life since I was a herder as the animals too grazed besides our livestock in the boundary of nature. When I was a warrior the curiosity of Cultural met me on the plains as some clients were walking along the escarpment of Lake Eyasi basin. I wanted to do a sort of a job, walking & trekking with some clients for hadzabe & datoga cultural experience.

As a grew up with indigenous knowledge of the area I saw the significant of creating cultural experience to different group of clients because I have a tale to tell of which I am not the owner of the story until I give it to the people. I am the founder of this growing campsite, the campsite that shows its clients the natural features of the landscapes, Cultural Experience, and the living cultures of different ethnic groups especially the Hadzabe and archaeological sites of the dead cultures.

Lake Eyasi Ng’ula Sunset Safari Camp was established in 2020. This campsite is an experience agency to its clients to the best destinations of their choice of hadzabe, datoga, blacksmith, nature walk to lake eyasi, the visit to mumba caves, salt agriculture & the underground hot spring water. The itineraries are made by the indigenous guides to meet the desire of individual clients. My message to you is that, I honestly & kindly  ask you to come and experience with us the cultural heritage whereby you will end up with unforgettable memories.
